Salvation Army
For more info or to get an e-mail about the next time please contact Sohee at sr563@cornell.edu.
The Catholic community offers several opportunities to volunteer and give some of your time to the Ithaca community. Among them is volunteering at the Salvation Army's kitchen downtown. It is a rewarding experience that goes well with the rest of the Cornell experience. After busy weeks that you'll have spent immersed on campus, you will find it refreshing to spend some time downtown doing something that's not for your own benefit. The Salvation Army looks for volunteers most weekends, and we (the Cornell Catholic community) have done a good job of providing them with students these past few years. Every one who's volunteered has loved it!
So whether you are new to Ithaca or not, please consider spending some a few hours of your weekend time with fellow students, the SA staff, and all of the folks that come enjoy a meal in the SA's service center.
You will be asked to help prepare the meal, serve and share it, and finally clean up afterwards.
Conversational English is enough, international students are encouraged to volunteer!
