Intellectual Formation Committee
About the Intellectual Formation Committee:
John Paul II in his encyclical “Faith and Reason” reminds us that faith and reason are like two wings that aide us in our contemplation of truth. The role of the intellectual formation committee is to provide students with opportunities to consider how to learn about more deeply about their Catholic faith and how to integrate these principles into their lives. The committee sponsors lectures, workshops, and speakers.

About our Intellectual Formation Committee Co-Chairs:
Co-chair, Sam Pell, sep87@cornell.edu
Co-chair, Robert Pena, rcp73@cornell.edu
Robert Pena is a Freshmen from Garden City, NY. He is majoring in Biological Sciences (CALS) with the hope of eventually becoming a Cardiothroacic Surgeon and then a Roman Catholic Priest. He enjoys reading, writing, drawing, painting, playing music (piano and violin), public speaking, and biology. His patron saint is St. Francis of Assisi and his favorite biblical parable is the Parable of the Talents (Mt. 25:14-30). He is excited to be serving on the Intellectual Formation Committee and hopes that the leadership eam might help the Church re-evangelize lost Christians back into the arms of Christ and support and strenghten those already in His embrace, so that they might know exactly why they should be called brothers and sisters 'in Christ', and discover that they truly wish to be with Christ.
